Keep Going

Last week, I was talking with a kind, elderly woman and asked if she had any advice for me. Without hesitation, she said, “Keep going.” After reflecting on these words, I'm reminded they can mean more than they seem. They carry the weight of experience, resilience, and perspective. As human beings, we often need to be encouraged to "keep going."
1. Don’t give up
Stay strong through whatever challenge you’re facing — work, family, health, grief, or personal growth.
2. You’re on the right path
There is something good or purposeful in what you’re doing.
3. Life requires perseverance
Older generations often use “keep going” to remind younger people that life has ups and downs, and moving forward — slowly or imperfectly — is part of wisdom.
4. You’re stronger than you think
Sometimes elders say this because they recognize resilience in you that you may not fully see.
5. Don’t let small setbacks stop you
Sometimes we need a gentle nudge to not overthink or become discouraged.
At Desta Therapy, we’re dedicated to helping individuals reclaim joy and live with purpose. Take heart today — and keep going.
