My daughter recently completed the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage route also known as The Way of St. James. The most popular path, the Camino Frances, spans 778.5 km (483.7 miles) from St. Jean Pied de Port, France, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Most pilgrims take about four weeks to walk the entire route.

This historic journey offers a unique opportunity for self-reflection, allowing travelers to explore their purpose and realign their lives. The pilgrimage culminates at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, a UNESCO World Heritage site believed to house the remains of Saint James the Great, one of Jesus Christ's apostles.

Through daily WhatsApp updates, I felt as if I were walking alongside my daughter. This experience reminded me of the importance of companionship in our lives - how we grow by supporting each other, offering encouragement, listening, loving, and accepting one another. As we engage in these acts, we find fulfillment ourselves.

At Desta Therapy, counseling operates on a similar principle. Our therapists accompany their clients wherever they are on their healing journey, supporting them and helping them reach their goals. While the destination may not be a historic cathedral, the concept is the same: to rediscover joy and achieve personal growth.
