Lizet Ortuño, LMSW

Supervised By: Erika Alanis-Garcia, LCSW-S

Healing often starts with (re)connection, to ourselves, to others, and to the parts of life that feel out of reach. I aim to create a space where clients can pause, feel seen, and explore what matters most to them. I approach therapy with curiosity, compassion, and respect, holding space for the full complexity of each client’s experiences while supporting them in discovering their own strength, resilience, and sense of balance.

Area of Expertise

I support people through experiences like grief, anxiety, depression, questions of identity, spirituality, and life transitions. I’m particularly drawn to helping clients rebuild connection with themselves, their relationships, and the aspects of life that bring meaning, clarity, and empowerment. I also provide Immigration Evaluations for clients who may need this support.

Techniques I Use

My approach to therapy honors the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, while respecting both evidence-based practices and cultural ways of knowing. I work from a decolonial and relational-cultural perspective, holding space for clients to explore their experiences within the context of relationships, communities, and personal histories. I draw on mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and body awareness to support self-discovery, resilience, and growth. I strive for the work together to be mindful of each client’s values, pace, and lived experiences.
